I own an ASUS TUF Dash F15 FX516PR (2021 3070 Model) and stopped gaming for three months. After resuming, I notice increased CPU temperatures. In BFV I used to see a consistent 80 degrees C, but now it reaches up to 85 degrees C with occasional spikes to 90. I suspect ASUS uses low-quality thermal paste on their lower-tier gaming laptops, which might be the reason. Additionally, my laptop doesn’t enter sleep mode when I close the lid, and after sitting for 30-45 minutes, the CPU hits 90 degrees C. Do you have any idea what might be causing this?

It seems like a mix of thermal paste and dust might be the cause. Clean the laptop thoroughly, then retry. If problems persist, verify your power settings are correct.

It appears the laptop activates sleep mode when the lid is shut, and it warms up during this state. The only way to resolve this seems to be turning it off completely.

I just tried playing a bit of BFV with different fan settings. The first time I used "Performance" mode, the temperatures hit 82°C max. The second time I switched to "Turbo" mode, after minimizing the game and entering armory crate, my CPU temperature dropped to 62°C, which was a big improvement. The interesting thing is that yesterday I was in Turbo mode and reached 85°C temps. I plan to clean the laptop with a can of duster to see how it performs.

Noted the problem. It seems Armory Crate's TURBO setting affects both GPU and CPU, not just fan control. This is likely what's leading to my overheating concerns.
