Typically, components that deteriorate should be swapped out. Could you provide the exact model and brand of your printer?

My old Cannon multi-function printer stopped working about a year ago in that way.
The website links to reset didn’t seem to help at all.
Even though the pads looked replaceable, it wasn’t easy to do so. They were tiny and hard to reach.
One pad would come out, but the other got stuck deeper inside the machine.
No damage or trouble, just that the printer stopped functioning completely.
Trying to fix it didn’t help—I had nothing to lose.
A print autopsy showed ink spilling everywhere in that area.
I only used official Cannon ink cartridges.
Just be careful; the printer might not be salvageable.
