Is the Nepton 280L cooler compatible with your case?
Is the Nepton 280L cooler compatible with your case?
I'm really lazy and have to look for things now. School ended a long time ago, so I just throw everything away because I don't go to school anymore. You're saying I'm too lazy, so you think someone else should do your homework for me? When my kids borrow mine but don't return them, I just take one from my wife's sewing kit. I'm sure a mom or dad can lend me a tape measure. I don't have your case here... It's not something I can recommend. That's why I'm not able to help you further.
It's a reasonable price. Two 120mm CLCs perform similarly to a Noctua NH-D14, which costs around the same amount. NZXT only mentions compatibility with 2 x 120mm or 2 x 140mm fans on their site... since the 280L is a 2 x 140mm model, I think that's possible. You should check the length (280L measures 12.2 inches) to see if it fits the depth you need before ordering MoBo heat sinks.
JackNaylorPE says it's a reasonable deal. The 2 x 120mm CLCs perform similarly to the Noctua NH-D14, which costs about the same. NZXT only lists sizes up to 2 x 140mm or 2 x 120mm, so the 280L model could fit. You should check the length and depth with a MoBo heat sink to confirm. I own an MSI Z97s Krait edition and measured it myself—I think it works fine.
I'd like to be certain before placing the order... a tape measure would clear any uncertainty. Usually I use cardboard mockups to check fit. In this case, the card edge was 2mm off from the reservoir bracket.
I attempted to build it with Pcpartpicker and it claims everything works together, so should I go ahead and purchase it?
I discovered PCpartpicker to be unreliable in this regard .... it frequently indicates RAM is incompatible even though it's listed on Intel's official compatibility list. PCPP also mentions products are out of stock when they're available at some of their partner sites. No ruler or tape measure at home? Friends, neighbors?
JackNaylorPE shared his experience with PCpartpicker being unreliable in this situation. It frequently flags RAM as incompatible even though it's listed on Intel's official compatibility page. PCPP also mentions that products are out of stock at some partner sites while still available elsewhere. He admits he's too lazy to check and wonders if friends or neighbors might know.
Don't try to mimic a parent here (as I do), because that mindset won't lead anywhere. JackNaylorPE has shared some solid advice, and you're still asking for someone else to handle the work—though it's not actual work at all; it's just a straightforward task to verify yourself.
