Is the motherboard B450M DS3H damaged or incompatible with Wi-Fi?
Hello everyone, I've been following Linus for a while now, but this is my first time joining the community, so it's great to meet all of you. In short, I'm receiving an audio diagnostic beep when the system starts up with the B450M DS3H WIFI v1.4 board installed. It suggests the graphics card isn't detected, even though I've tried multiple cards—two that work—and also swapped out the power supply to rule out that as the cause. This is my second attempt on this same machine, and the first one failed after a major failure, so I rebuilt it.
Because of my experiments (explained later), I suspect I need to update the BIOS to point to an external graphics card instead of the built-in one. However, this board only supports Q-Flash, not Q-Flash Plus, and I encounter errors before even connecting my keyboard. The issue seems tied to a design flaw in the BIOS versions shipped with these boards.
To put it simply: the error means no video output right now. My main concern is whether anyone else can help me update the BIOS or fix this setting without physically changing the board. I've shared my setup details below, but it looks like this problem might be inherent to the firmware itself.
Thanks for your time!
Your motherboard's guide states you can use the END key to reach the Q-Flash Utility without going through the BIOS. That seems correct. Did you also disconnect the power cord from the outlet and repeatedly press Enter while briefly connecting the jumper switches? This was a new method I learned. It appears that on every machine I've worked on, the GPU would default even when no iGPU was enabled, possibly due to a bug. Best of luck!
