Is the laptop starting correctly after a reboot?
Hi, when I restart my Legion laptop, it powers on but the screen remains off. The power button light stays on, yet it doesn't display the Lenovo logo. I've had to press the power button for a few seconds to shut it down and wait a while before trying again. Once I turn it back on, it starts normally. However, if I turn it on immediately, it doesn't work properly. I also attempted using a stick in the BIOS slot, but that didn't help; it just powers on, lights up the keyboard, and then turns off. Reinstalling Windows hasn't fixed the problem either.
Your Lenovo laptop model and SKU have been updated. The current BIOS version for your device is available upon request.
What key sequence did you use on the laptop, and what steps did you follow to troubleshoot the issue?
i can begin it, but after turning it off and waiting a bit, will this 30 second bios button work or should i repeat it each time? i don’t want to attempt a bios update unless I’m sure it will fix it, since i don’t want to risk damaging the laptop. the windows is original with the recovery and reset options available.
We attempt our best to fix the problem. Since the issue appears after a reboot or startup would suggest a BIOS problem, my assumption is that it relates to BIOS settings. I can't assure you a BIOS update will go smoothly without issues. You should back up your data before proceeding with any BIOS update, as mentioned in most BIOS update guides for every brand. If you don’t have access to a repair shop that can fix a laptop by reprogramming its BIOS using the CH341A toolkit, it’s best to leave it unchanged.
Yeah, but if the RAM functions properly why would there be an issue? The inability to start the screen and similar problems might not happen all the time—maybe around 80-90% of the time. The BIOS button didn’t work for about 30 seconds, but after that the power button finally activated the screen.
