Is the laptop restarting repeatedly using a bootable USB drive?
Hi!
I've been attempting a fresh installation of Windows 11 on my MSI Bravo C7VE Laptop without success. Each time I try to launch the installer, the computer restarts abruptly, sending me back to the start. Sometimes it doesn't even reach the installer, instead looping repeatedly before finally starting. I was able to boot another USB with the MatCat suite to diagnose the issue, and even managed to run Windows 10 and Linux versions on portable drives. I opened MiniWin10 to verify that all my files from the other partition remained intact—they did—but after some time it would restart again.
Before this, the laptop was working reasonably well, though it experienced some CPU throttling. After a repair, it functioned properly. The I2C HID driver for the touchpad was occasionally unstable and needed uninstalling and reinstalling to resolve the problem. Overall, everything else seemed normal.
I'm really struggling because I have upcoming finals and can't work without my laptop. Also, I don’t think overheating is the main issue—I even moved the laptop closer to a window to avoid freezing outside. I performed an EC reset, BIOS flash, turned off Secure Boot and Fast Boot. Please help! Thank you.

Yeah, sorry for the missing details and incorrect names. I used a Medicat bootable USB that came with a portable version of Windows 10 and some diagnostic tools.
The USB was a 128GB Kingston drive. The software is genuine, but I’m not sure what might be causing the repeated restarts.

I attempted, but as mentioned, on any bootable usb it continues to restart intermittently, lasting from a few seconds to several minutes. I used a Boot repair tool on Medicat which essentially damaged the usb, preventing recovery. I wonder what could be causing this repeated reboot issue.
Did you check if all the physical USB drives you tested came from the same manufacturer or model?
No, these are distinct USB devices from various manufacturers. Once I have another USB drive configured, I'll attempt to record a video demonstrating its performance.
I just made a bootable USB with Rufus but it behaves the same: it keeps trying to boot from the USB, stays active for a while before restarting, and sometimes fails to boot at all. It’s frustrating. Any ideas?
