My laptop is missing the Power Saver power plan template; only "Balanced" is available (Control panel > Windows Power Settings). Should I add the default Power Saver template using a regedit file from a trusted source to this laptop? I really need it added to the power template list so it works just like on my desktop, which automatically reduces temperatures significantly. Please help me—I have to get this done. Thank you.

Don't require installing anything from outside, it should already be available on Windows. Consider trying these options -

I attempted to include the mentioned reg file, but the CMD prompt indicates it was added successfully, yet it's not visible in the control panel power settings. I'll try your suggestion now, and by the way, do you think that website is safe to visit? It consistently appeared in the first search results.

it seems secure enough, the recommendations don't require downloading anything, just basic guidance should suffice.

-My laptop experienced battery wear problems for several months; I think the modern standby setting was the cause.
After reinstalling Windows 11, the battery wear stopped increasing, which is a positive change.
The CMD prompt indicates my laptop supports disconnected modern standby, not any other mode (I suspect I handled this before).
Disconnecting modern standby extended battery life and reduced heat, though it might also trigger BSODs and other serious issues as mentioned online.
I believe the problem started when we bought the laptop—issues with wear level, heated external drives, CPU temperature, etc.—but it’s now fixed.
The Power Saver plan doesn’t appear on the control panel; according to the site, it needs to be completely disabled by another action, which I didn’t take and don’t want to.
At least my battery box isn’t showing increased wear, which is a good sign.
All this seems interconnected, and no one else has explained modern standby before. It took me about 4-5 months to understand how to use the laptop properly without causing damage.
Thanks Satya for making it so difficult to use my laptop. Back then, it was just plug and play—simple and easy.
Now I’m giving up; the laptop is working, but I’m unsure how to handle BSODs or restore the Power Saver plan if needed.
Appreciate your quick response, it means a lot.
