Laptop model details provided. CPU and GPU specifications are noted. Recent issues with CPU fan stopped functioning, no RPM detected, no exhaust observed. Service center replaced fans and applied thermal paste, improving performance. Current fan still shows zero RPM in software and BIOS. Advice given to report back if problem continues. I assume you're referring to Armory Crate, and if you have an Asus ROG laptop, let me know its model and SKU. Also, confirm whether the laptop has any pending BIOS updates. The fan replacement should be a like-for-like part. If it was done correctly, there might be a short in your motherboard. You may need a multimeter to check, and possibly desoldering or rewiring the fan controller—though you seem to be asking if you're not doing that yourself.

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HX
GPU: Radeon RX 6800M
The service center guy replaced it and i didn't see the brand of the replaced fan. But the gpu fan was also replaced since the fans are available as pairs and its working fine. The fan that was replaced is pretty much non functional and the current fan works fine for now. I don't think they would solder the fan controller but rather replace the motherboard entirely which would be pretty expensive for me i guess. So I was thinking should I just let it as it is? Would it keep working? Currently there is no lag or throttling.

It's like we're both navigating without clear guidance—since you haven't shared much detail, Asus probably won't help unless you pay a big amount... that's their usual approach now. No new bios updates were announced. The service center representative suggested reporting within two days if the issue persists, which would allow him to possibly restore the old fans and refund me. However, based on what I’ve noticed, that seems like a risky move. I believe it’s wiser to keep using the laptop or take a chance, since purchasing a new one right now is quite costly.

The service did lower the temperatures significantly—perhaps the new thermal paste performed exceptionally well, bringing my GPU temps down to record lows.
