Hello Guys,
I hope everyone is doing well!
I own a 10-year-old Celeron laptop that has been useful for my office tasks. Now I’m planning to assemble a new gaming PC myself, and here are the details I’m considering.

CPU: Ryzen 5600x – $200
Motherboard: MSI B550m Pro VDH WIFI – $137
Power Supply: MSI MAG A650BN – $60
RAM: XPG ADATA GAMMIX D30 DDR4 8GB (1x8GB) at 3200MHz – $39
Monitor: MSI G27CQ4 E2 Curved Gaming Monitor | 27 Inch WQHD (2560 x 1440px) at 170Hz, 1ms – $288
Storage: Crucial P3 1TB PCIe 3.0 NVMe M.2 SSD, up to 3500MB/s – $47
GPU: RX 6700xt – $432
Case: Ant Esports ICE-110 Mid-Tower – supports E-ATX, ATX & VS450L, 450W, non-modular – $60

Estimated total comes to around $1260. I already have a keyboard and mouse. I’ve purchased these components before, but I’m planning to buy the monitor next month. After that, I’ll likely add the case and SSD, and then other parts as needed. Since I can’t afford everything at once, I’m trying to keep costs low.

I have no prior PC building experience, though I have a basic understanding from my computer science studies. I’m also thinking about getting an RX 7700xt GPU for $528, which is $100 more than the RX 6700xt. My main concern is whether I’ll be able to complete this build as described or if I need to adjust any part of the list.

Thank you for your time. Have a great day from India!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
My concern is whether I will receive a post about these PC components as mentioned earlier.
Yes
Do I need to modify anything in the above list of items?
It might be necessary if we understand your budget and preferred purchasing platform. You may want to consider upgrading the RAM kit to one compatible with DDR4-3600MHz.
I have no prior experience building PCs, though I have a degree in computer science (only in theory). This gives me some basic understanding.
There are YouTube videos that demonstrate how to assemble a PC using parts you've already bought. One example is here.
The thread title and your question seem unrelated, in my opinion.

Thank you #Lutfij for your quick reply! I'm considering upgrading to a RAM with higher MHz. I've been watching several PC build videos and noticed many people changing their motherboard BIOS, especially with the Ryzen 5600X. Others mentioned not getting updates without it. Please keep sharing your videos so I can learn more about my PC build.

This CPU offers better value, operates at a lower temperature compared to the 5600X, and delivers performance nearly similar to it.

The AM4 platform is no longer viable. If you're currently using AM4, I would have recommended the 5800X3D and it would have prevented CPU issues for at least three years. Now, getting a brand new AM4 board isn't advisable.

The 4060ti 8gb begins at 34k, but I’d recommend the 16gb model for a 2k monitor. In terms of performance, both the 6750XT and the 4060ti are similar. The 16gb starts at 44k.

For around 1 lakh rupees, here’s what I suggest:
The motherboard supports an i7-14700 upgrade. If you plan to upgrade in three years, that’s feasible.
Another option is moving to AM5. You’d need DDR5 RAM, a B650 motherboard, and a 7600X. This would add about 25k to the cost.

CPU options range from 12400 to 15600.
Motherboards: B660 mortar wifi - 18300 -
https://www.vedantcomputers.com/msi-mag-...earch=B660
Cooler - AG500 RGB - 2500 -
https://www.vedantcomputers.com/pc-...oo...&order=ASC
RAM - Spectix D60 3600mhz 32gb - 7200 -
https://www.vedantcomputers.com/pc-...ry...&order=ASC
SSD - KC3000 2tb - 12000 -
https://www.vedantcomputers.com/pc-...2t...&order=ASC
GPU - Asus dual 6750XT - 34000 -
https://www.vedantcomputers.com/asu...io...earch=6750
Case - Antec AX90 - 5300 -
https://www.vedantcomputers.com/pc-...d-...&order=ASC
PSU - RMe 850 - 10600 -
https://www.vedantcomputers.com/pc-...r-...&order=ASC
Overall cost would be around 105500.
They might offer a discount for the entire system, so it’s worth asking.
P.S.: If you have more budget, I’d recommend this cooler:
https://www.vedantcomputers.com/pc-...co...&order=ASC
But you should verify compatibility with the RAM. The AG500 has a 42mm clearance, and the D60 has a 46mm height. The cooler might cover the first two RAM slots.

Thank you for your help. I really valued your advice on this. The Ryzen 5600 and 5600x are quite similar in price in India, just a few dollars less for the 5600, which is the newer CPU. The AM5 platform is good, but I feel like I can't stretch that much these days, so I'll go with the older Intel model to get better performance compared to the AMD option currently available.

Between the 5600X and 12400, the latter is marginally superior: CPU Benchmarks and Hierarchy 2025: CPU Rankings We conducted numerous CPU benchmarks on both new and older Intel and AMD processors, compiling the rankings. 6750XT vs 4060ti: GPU Benchmarks and Hierarchy 2023 Hundreds of GPU benchmarks were performed on Nvidia, AMD, and Intel graphics cards, with a detailed ranking presented. Don’t overlook that the B660 model allows you to achieve the 14700, which is why I’m recommending the 12400 now rather than the 5600X.

I noticed you didn’t include the monitor in your 1 lakh budget. Here are some adjustments to help balance the expenses:

Monitor: LG27GN800 - 23k -
https://www.vedantcomputers.com/pc-...7g...ng-monitor
16gb RAM - 4.3k -
https://www.vedantcomputers.com/pc-...or...&order=ASC
SSD - Crucial P3 1tb - 4k -
https://www.vedantcomputers.com/pc-...-n...&order=ASC
Case - Antec 200 air - 3.8k -
https://www.vedantcomputers.com/pc-...i-...&order=ASC
With the RAM, case, and SSD you’ll save around 12.4k

PSU - inquire if this model was made in 2022 or newer - NZXT C750 - 8.7k -
https://www.vedantcomputers.com/pc-...we...&order=ASC
If you get a PSU that’s still unused for three years, the overall savings would reach 14.4k

PSU should not be stored idle for more than three years.

You’re lucky to have a GPU, motherboard, and cooler with white and black RGB themes—perfect for matching a white case.
