Even though the i5-7200U isn't included in the list, I'm curious about its compatibility with Windows 11.

I recommend checking the support page for your laptop, especially since the processor you mentioned is a mobile component. You may find relevant information there. Here are some links you could explore:
https://community.intel.com/t5/Mobi...or...-p/1575063
https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows11/comme...e_i57200u/
Keep in mind you're attempting to resolve a problem that might not be fixable (installing Windows 11 on an unsupported system).

It is not officially backed by MS. Recently, they increased the requirements for Intel CPUs to the 11th generation, meaning you must "cheat" using tools like Rufus to bypass them. MS allows this temporarily, but it's unclear how long this will last.

A couple of months back, AMD was still in its second generation.

True! I believe the demands were indeed increased to the 11th generation for the 24H2 update, but after a while they went back to the 8th generation as before.
I don't understand why they changed to the 11th generation just to go back to the original specs later.
This could be a sign that they plan to raise the requirements again soon—perhaps permanently, maybe with another update or even Windows 12 (just speculation).
What you say is accurate; the current requirements are still at 8th generation and higher.

The push for Windows 11 may compel certain users to switch to Linux. I plan to set up UNIX/Linux on my existing, functional systems after the security patch for Windows 10 is applied.

Just a short time ago, Microsoft shared that they would keep offering free security updates for Windows 10 as an alternative to the initially proposed $30 per device ESU charge. Now it's feasible to enroll in this complimentary ESU initiative, according to a source from Windows Central.
