Is the i5 6600K safe to overclock?
During the previous day's overclocking of my i5 to 4.5 @ 1.225V, it failed after two hours. After increasing the voltage to 1.25, I completed a stress test for about ten hours without any crashes. The highest temperature reached was 65°C with an average of 60°C. Are these readings acceptable?
Extremely secure. 1.4V is the safe threshold for a 6600K. The actual maximum is around 1.52V, directly from Intel. Temperatures remain within acceptable ranges as well. 80 degrees or lower on the cores is fine. Everything looks good.
