I have an HP motherboard with model Z170 Thimphu, 870-003na.
System specs: 16gb DDR4 2133, AMD Radeon R9 390x 8gb, 120gb SSD and 2tb HDD.
I'm wondering if I can overclock this setup and what safe limits exist? I've done some overclocking before but haven't tried this model yet. Thanks in advance.

In theory you can overclock the Z170 MB, but who knows about that HP eom PC. Since you had that PC, just boot into the BIOS to check if you can or not, because OEM like HP or Dell usually block the overclocking function in the BIOS. If possible, read some of the overclocking guides and give it a try, because only by doing it yourself will you know for sure.
