Hi all,
I was planning to assemble a new machine, but the GPU costs are quite high—about six months of waiting. Usually I aim to buy at the MSRP, but now I’m considering purchasing one sooner and building the machine around it. Prices have recently dropped, so I’m curious if any of these models are worth buying now and using as the core for a gaming setup. I’m open to alternatives like Micro Center, Newegg, Amazon, or Bestbuy if there’s a better deal elsewhere. Please share your thoughts and let me know if you have any questions.

I was preparing to construct a new machine, but the current GPU prices have delayed progress—about six months.
Which components have you chosen to move forward?
I’d consider the ASRock card if you’re going with the RX 9070 XT. Asus usually sets their prices higher compared to rivals. For the Nvidia card, opt for it if the games or applications you plan to run can benefit from its capabilities.

With the prices of GPUs so high, I thought I could complete the rest once I have one. Thinking about the MSRP versus the current cost, do you think it’s better to wait a little longer or go ahead now?

If you have a need now, buy now.
If you wait for the next best thing, you will wait forever.
Most commonly a gamer will start with a competent processor and graphics card, planning on upgrading the graphics card sometime in the future. Plan on an overly strong psu for that strategy.

Thanks for the update! Your old rig isn't getting any younger, huh?
