Hello, my recent upgrade is complete. I’m running a 3080 FE with a Corsair water block, a 5800x motherboard, a Gigabyte Aorus X570 i Pro Wi-Fi board, a Corsair SF750 PSU and Corsair Vengeance RAM. Previously, I used all except the 5800x, except for the stock 3080 FE which wasn’t water-blocked. When I powered it on, nothing happened—no startup sounds, no BIOS alerts. I experimented with older components until I realized what I did and the outcome. Chronologically: SF750, 3600, 1080ti → TX750M, 3600, 1080ti → TX750M, 3600, 1080ti → TX750M, 3600, 1080ti → TX750M, 3600, 3080 → TX750M, 3600, 1080ti → TX750M, 3600, 1080ti → TX750M, 3600, 3080 → TX750M, 3600, 1080ti → SF750, 3600, 1080ti. After that, both PSUs failed to boot, so I waited overnight before trying again in the morning. TX750M, 3600, 1080ti → TX750M, 5800x, 1080ti → TX750M, 3600, 1080ti → TX750M, 3600, 3080 → TX750M, 3600, 1080ti. Then I stopped testing because I didn’t want to risk more parts. I’ve updated the BIOS to the latest version for the MoBo (F36c). From what I understand, the 3080 seems to be affecting the PSUs. The 5800x also isn’t working. It’s possible it was defective or damaged during the first boot attempt. I’m curious if anyone has similar experiences.
Have you checked for a BIOS update? Also, noticed a line in the PSU tier list.
I've made the latest update (F36c). Still nothing. My SF750 comes from lot 211448*. The same issues keep happening with the TX model too. It doesn't seem like the power supplies are the problem—more like they're being reset or 'tripped' temporarily. They shut down briefly and then restart, almost as if a self-healing fuse is triggered. I'm not even certain computer PSUs use this behavior.
It looks like everything settled down nicely. I powered off the whole setup last night and checked the 3600/1080ti with the TX PSU—it started up. I also tried the 3600/3080 using the same PSU, and it worked too. I’ve got a new 5800x coming tomorrow, so I won’t risk testing the CPU again. The biggest adjustment was taking off the water block from the 3080 and putting back the original cooler.
