Is the GPU getting too hot or slow because of how much power it uses while you play a video game?
I just bought a new PC and started playing Jurassic Park Evolution 2. Right now, when I move around the map or change the terrain, my GPU slows down too much. My power usage and clock speeds also drop. That makes the game lag behind me, dropping frames from 100 down to about 30. But once I stop moving, everything goes back to normal. I've tried it on empty maps and it happens there too. If I stay away from buildings and move normally, nothing changes. The clock speed, power usage, and heat all stay steady. I haven't seen this problem in other games either. I've tried reinstalling drivers, updating the BIOS, changing game settings, tweaking Windows options, and adjusting Adrenalin settings with no success. There seems to be no overheating or thermal throttling happening since the temperature stays around 60C or less during this issue. I'm not sure if it's just a bug in the game but there is no info online about it. Limiting frame rates and using FXAA helps slightly, but the problem keeps coming back even when everything is set to low settings. I am really hoping someone can help me fix this mystery. Here are my specs: XFX Speedster Quick 319, GTX 6700 XT, Ryzen 7 5800X with a 3.8 GHz processor, Pro B550-VC motherboard, RM850x power supply, Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM at 3600 MHz, and Windows 11 Home. I apologize for being unclear earlier. When you change the setting on the screen, does the entire game pause or just stay running in the background?
Sorry, actually no, the game is going forward just fine at a regular pace.
