I own a Dell 3130cn Color Laser Printer, but it isn't being recognized anymore on my HP laptop using Windows 7. Even though I replaced the toner, it still doesn't function. After uninstalling and reinstalling the driver from Dell, the printer remains unresponsive. It powers on but no error messages appear, and I've reset the printer settings. Anyone have suggestions? Thanks.

If you're linked to the pc using a USB cable, switch off both the pc and printer, detach the cable from the device and reattach it while the pc and printer are powered down. Unplug the printer from the wall for at least a minute, then reconnect it. Restart the printer and check if it's recognized by your pc. Another option would be to use a different USB cable for the printer.

If you fail, use the printer to print the test page(s) together with the printer's configuration report.

Fix me, I'll give it another shot. Ralston 18 I used a test page from the printer and it printed fine, but not on my laptop. I'm planning to reinstall Windows 7 and check the results, even though I was going to do it anyways. Now I have an excuse!
