I'm considering swapping my older laptop for a new one. Would you think the Dell Latitude 5550 is a good purchase given these specifications?

Your use case scenario confirms it will handle the task effectively. For additional alternatives, let me know. Your location, ideal purchasing site, and maximum budget for a laptop are also important details.

I’m looking for a solid laptop suited for everyday office work and basic programming tasks (Visual Studio; Microchip MPLAB X IDE, Harmony, FreeRTOS). I plan to expand the RAM to 64 GB, fully utilize it by loading data and running in C++/asm64, and install a 2TB SSD. I’m not concerned about budget limits but am open to spending on the best possible machine without restrictions.
