I'm not sure if it's worth it, as it might require a lot of effort to return it.

It will run it perfectly okay although it isn't the best it certainly isn't the worst. Think of it like a Ford Focus although I'd want something better I wouldn't feel to stupid running my PC with it considering it is covered with a 3 year warranty.
Running stock with a system like that with 2 HDD and some fans going you will not be pulling more than 400w then add some overclocking for 550w and you arn't even pushing it that hard so will be fine.
Woohoopy :
From my experience, I was able to get ~3.5 good years out of a Corsair CX600M, but am currently starting to run into issues. This is with a much older CPU, so I would definitely not recommend it for the Haswell/Skylake+ generation.
Likewise, I feel as though my max
overclocks suffered
by a PSU bottleneck.
If you're still in the window for being able to
return it
, I certainly
would
if I were you.
A
Corsair RMx
(emphasis on the "x", RM is a different, less reliable series) will be much more reliable for your build and waste less electricity/have more reliable overclocks.
Here is a link:

If you're able to return this existing CM750W, you would have to pay very little extra if at all for this much better PSU. I just ordered the RMX two days ago and am looking forward to the upgrade.
Good luck mate, cheers.

An evga B2 750 would be a far better unit.
Yeah, I might get this one, however isn't the G2 abetter alternative? It's pretty hard to buy anything PC part atm due to the new GPUs and everyone building systems
Yes, EVGA G2 PSUs are 80+ Gold certified quality power supplies.
I have had mine for over 3 years and I don't think it has any issues.
Monty8937 :
Im just not sure if it's worth it considering it may be quite a lot of effort to return it.
Exactly why I'd stay with it at the end of the day it might be slightly sub par but also isn't a live hand grenade. If you do get any issues it will most likely be after 3-5 years and you will get a warning probably before it goes if it does go. If it does go then it shouldn't damage anything anyway.

The G2 is even better. The cx750m is a more affordable PSU. Evga B2 is a significantly better and more budget-friendly option than the G2. I updated my previous post with additional details about the cx750m.

In summary, would you consider the effort worthwhile by returning it to obtain an EVGA G2 550?

Are you using the PSU from the new CXM series -
http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/~/media/075...6CDBD.ashx
Or the previous model? -

The updated version is great.

If it's the latest CXM lineup, the black and silver versions are solid choices with a 5-year warranty—does that apply to you?

In summary, do you think it's worth the effort to return it and purchase an EVGA G2 550?
Probably not, you'll just end up with lower ratings but higher quality. I have a CX750 as a backup power supply, which is fine for now—it won’t be the main rig for long, but it works. You’re opting for a better quality unit, which is harder to justify compared to a slightly lower-rated but still decent option. It’s up to you, but I’d prefer to stick with what you have. This isn’t just something I’ve read; I actually own a similar product and can share a photo if you want.
Thanks SR-71 for your support!

Is your PSU one of the latest CXM models?
Or is it the older version?
The new one performs very well.
