Bricked MOBO, CPU issues? Everything changed a few months ago. I updated the BIOS out of habit, but something went wrong during the process—there was a prolonged black screen that lasted hours, and I just restarted the computer. On the next boot, the display was off, yet the PC turned on normally with fans and RGB lights active. After several days of troubleshooting and testing each part online, I suspected the MOBO was damaged. I checked everything I could find, but since everything worked before and after the update, it was hard to pinpoint another cause. The CPU itself was functioning perfectly before.

Later, I replaced my MOBO with an ASUS TUF Gaming B450M-PLUS II and used it on a different machine. The same problems persisted: no display, RGB lights activated, fans ran continuously, and everything else seemed fine. I haven’t tried anything new since then, as it feels like the issue is exactly the same.

Could a bricked MOBO cause CPU damage? My CPU shows no signs of harm or bent pins. What should I do next, and what do you think is wrong?

Components:
ASUS TUF Gaming B450M-PLUS II
ZOTAC Twofans RTX 2080 TI
Ryzen 5 2600
TForce 2x8GB DDR4 3000MHz DELTA RGB CL16-18-18-38
1TB HDD
456GB SSD NVME M.2 970 PRO
Seasonic prime titanium 1100W
(Only RAM and CPU were actively used on the other PC; all others are confirmed working). The monitor also works fine.

Please help,
I’m really frustrated with this situation.
🙁

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! Would you like to place the processor onto a functioning motherboard with the newest BIOS version or at least one that supports your processor? If you notice bent or damaged pins, can you check for any debris or dirt in your CPU's socket or the pins themselves? Out of the box, should you be able to work with your processor on any B450 chipset motherboard? Which two slots are the RAM modules connecting to the board?

Ty for your fast response and the welcome.
I don't have any other MOBO to test it on aside from the old one, I also don't have access to the PC where my components were mounted in the period between (old MOBO-new mobo).
Yes, I've removed the CPU and inspected it for a good few minutes, no signs of bent pins or damage. I very gently cleaned it today with a piece of cotton and 96% alcohol, haven't remounted it after that, but it did seem slightly dirty, even though it was apparently really small, in the center square (where there are no pins). The CPU is currently drying.
As for the RAM, I tried it with the 2 sticks in the A2-B2 slots, and tried with each one individually in the B2 slot, as recommended in the MOBO manual, haven't tried to put them in the "1's" slots, but I will on the next boot.
Have you ever heard of a CPU having problems because of a BIOS update? I ask this because from where I stand all this seems really weird. PC fully functional->Failed Bios update->What I thought was a bricked MOBO->All pieces guaranteedly functional and tested on a different system (CPU and RAM not so guaranteed) ->SWAP MOBO and problem persists.
I am very confused by all this, because I can only see a few culprits considering that the problem is exactly the same on old and new MOBO: either CPU is not functional, RAM is not functional or Cable from PSU to CPU is not functional. (I've tried using a different slot in the PSU since it is modular, but it didn't fix it).
Edit: Maybe I should just mount the CPU and try to run it now, but I am waiting to see if there are more suggestions and I am running out of thermal paste. 😅

After trying again, the CPU issue still remained. I didn’t have a DEBUG speaker, but I recalled seeing one before. Checked my surroundings and found it! Excited, I connected it to the MOBO but didn’t hear any beeps. Since I thought the speaker might be faulty after sitting unused for some time, removing the RAM caused the error code (3 beeps) to appear.
