Hello. I need to think about whether to keep my current configuration or upgrade to Athlon 200GE. Someone in Discord suggested replacing it because it’s outdated for today’s gaming standards. They recommended switching to an AMD Athlon 200GE due to its strong integrated graphics and CPU, and the possibility of adding a high-end GPU later. Should I go ahead with the replacement? Please advise.

It's accurate to some extent, but upgrading to a GTX 1070 or GTX 1080 Ti on your current setup for around $100 would still work well for most games.
For AMD, I'd be open to it.

The Athlon 200GE represents a notable step back compared to your Ivy Bridge Xeon. Upgrading the graphics card could potentially enhance gaming performance, though I cannot suggest any changes without understanding the specific power supply you're using. It might be suitable for entry-level options such as Corsair VS or older Corsair CX models, neither of which are ideal for a GPU upgrade.

Sorry not being precise about my brother's computer – his PSU is a CV550 with silver or grey color. He mentioned upgrading the old EVGA 450 BR for future-proofing, but ended up giving up on gaming in 2021.
I understand, so I should consider whether my GPU needs an upgrade. How much can my CPU handle before it starts bottlenecking as they say?
