That problem was linked to that specific router. Inspect your power switch or reset feature—your power button on mine was defective because the spring failed and it repeatedly reset every few weeks. Eventually it completely broke, and the button stopped working. A few months later, when you inserted a toothpick into the power button hole to secure it, the reset function began operating independently of the button press.

I'm not sure if I'm being too cautious, but it feels like the device reacts when it connects. For instance, it almost restarted after I turned off my phone alarm. The worst part is that I'm now running a server there, and any downtime from this issue isn't okay.

Are the settings reset after the reboot? You might have a defective unit which may not have a permanent fix available. At this router's age (it's a WiFi 4 generation device, I believe), you'll likely only find a solution in a new replacement.
