I own a ROG Strix Z590 board and in the fan settings I see an AI Suite3 HydraNode toggle for turning it on or off. I'm searching online for guidance but haven't found clear details or demos. Right now I've turned it off. Do you really need a matching HydraNode fan? The pins are only for 4-pin PWM with a splitter, usually three pins. I plan to use it separately for my second CPU cooler fan, independent from its intake. All my fan and pump headers are already taken. Will it be possible to control two PWM fans independently using just one motherboard header split into two? How would that work?

They need their special fans. It’s probable they’re using the same connector for compatibility, but they’re routing data through the pin typically used for PWM instead of its intended path.
