I suffered from TB for about twenty years and made some donations, but recently with the new verification rule and the gmail controversy it seems to cause problems. Now, for the first time I realized that all my main email inbox was copied into another AOL account, and their original emails...gone or probably moved elsewhere. I think these issues occur when you have to verify a code—they ask you to check another account to confirm it's genuine. So I used one of my other AOL accounts for verification, which might be why the mix-up happened. Another issue is that they insist on entering the 8-digit code in the space provided, but when it comes, I see only 7 digits, making it useless. I also sometimes get a phone call code, but the call rarely rings, especially on weekends or holidays, if you need verification and have to wait for a regular business day. Anyone has any suggestions on how to resolve this?

The duplication problem in Thunderbird with IMAP can be easily resolved by navigating to Tools>Account Settings and selecting Copies & Folders for each IMAP account, then unchecking the box that says when sending messages automatically place a copy in.
