Is the 550W power supply sufficient for a RTX 3060 with 12GB of VRAM?
Hello, I'm thinking about upgrading my GTX 1650 Super to a RTX 3060 with 12 GB RAM. My current power supply is an MSI MAG A550BN 550W 80+ Bronze. I'm curious if it can handle the new graphics card. The rest of the system includes:
CPU: Intel Core i5-10400F @ 2.90GHz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz
Motherboard: MSI B560M PRO-E
Storage: Kingston NV1 NVMe PCIe SSD M.2 2280 250GB
SSD: Crucial BX500 1TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5-Inch Internal
I'm thinking about switching my GTX 1650 Super to a RTX 3060 12 GB.
My current power supply is an MSI MAG A550BN 550W 80+ Bronze, which is a Tier-C model. I’d like to upgrade to a better PSU and add another 650W for the whole system.
The discussion about graphics cards has been moved to the power supplies section.
Is it acceptable for a system that uses only about 300w during gaming?
