I am pretty new to overclocking, so I wanted to raise my CPU from 2.83 GHz all the way up to 3.40 GHz. Are these temperatures too hot? The first core hit 85 degrees. The second core got 79 degrees. The third core was 81 degrees and the fourth core was 78 degrees. This happened three minutes after I started running Prime95 version 26.6. I noticed that my Intel stock cooler is working fine.

I'm checking Intel's limit, and they only let me set a max of 71.4 degrees Celsius for the test case. I've heard that tcore feels like it's about 15 degrees hotter than tcase, so maybe we're doing fine here.

Intel tops the temp at 71.4 degrees Celsius, but my core is only about fifteen degrees higher than that. It probably means you're safe to go ahead.
