Is Sound misaligned, slowed across the entire setup?
Hello,
I'm experiencing a delay in sound lasting about 1 to 2 seconds within the system.
I've tried various drivers for the built-in Radeon graphics but haven't had success. The audio remains out of sync and delayed across the whole setup.
I'm feeling frustrated because I'm unsure whether the issue lies with the audio driver, VGA driver, or the motherboard.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! Please note the make and model of your GPU. Operating System & Version: Windows 11 Pro. Use DDU to delete both your audio and GPU drivers (all of them), then reinstall manually using the latest drivers from Asus's support site for audio and your GPU driver. Run the installer with elevated privileges, such as right-clicking the installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
I'm using the built-in Radeon graphics until I get my RTX 4070 Super.
Before this, I used a different setup (Strix B650E-I + 7800X3d) without encountering this problem. I had a Nvidia card then.
I suspect it might be a faulty MB or CPU, but I can't be sure. I could return it within the two-week return window while I still can.
I've removed the VGA driver several times using DDU, but I'll try again as you suggested.
My RAM is set to EXPOII mode in BIOS. Could this also be the cause?
For accurate results, I disconnected from WIFI then switched to Safe mode and used DDU as an administrator for each step:
1- Removed Realtek USB audio driver twice using DDU and restarted
2- Uninstalled the Radeon VGA driver twice and restarted
3- Deleted AMD high definition audio from Device manager
4- Installed Realtek audio driver v6.3.9600.2328 as administrator provided by Asus
5- Installed VGA AMD AM5 V31.0.24002.92_202401308B as administrator provided by Asus
Loaded default BIOS settings and changed to EXPO1, updated Qfan.
Exited Safe mode and began playing videos on YouTube. Still experiencing delays or sync issues when playing:
- Pausing a video causes sounds to stop after a second or more.
- Reopening Chrome leaves audio playing for more than a second after reload.
Note: This PC is connected to an LG OLED C1 via HDMI @ 120 Hz.
I tried a different HDMI cable from my XBOX series X and didn’t notice any improvement.
This setup was the same as before, except I wasn’t using the built-in VGA of the 7800X3D.
Can I safely say the problem is related to the motherboard or the Ryzen 7800X3D?
Should I request a return and try with another part?
