Well, it seems my games don't really tax the GPU too much, at least not for me. I play a few others like Dauntless Destiny 2, GTAV Lord of the Rings Online (which runs on a low-end machine), Skyrim, and more. My card never goes above 73%, and based on my benchmark scores, it's hard to see how I can push performance beyond the 99% percentile.
Stock voltages tend to be elevated. Each processor, whether GPU or CPU, behaves uniquely. Some require a bit more voltage for stability, others a bit less. But manufacturers and OEMs have limited time to adjust every processor they handle. Therefore, they choose a voltage higher than any they encounter, ensuring all processors remain stable. A universal setting. Clearly, your GPU in your PC doesn't need such high voltages, allowing you to lower its speed. The same card in another person's computer might not be so fortunate.
