I am presently utilizing a single 980 Ti graphics card in my system, paired with a 144Hz 1440p monitor. My companions and I plan to play Borderlands 3 in the near future, and I'm concerned that my existing 980 Ti may not adequately perform at 1440p with maximum settings, resulting in frame rates below 100 fps. I’m wondering if purchasing a second 980 Ti from eBay for approximately $200 would be a sensible investment compared to upgrading to a 2080 Super, which would cost considerably more.

Transition to the 2080 Super, and SLI is effectively obsolete—it's unlikely to provide a significant performance boost.
