Is purchasing a 1070 Ti for streaming e-sports at 1080p 60FPS a worthwhile investment?
Hi everyone! I'm considering my first gaming PC and wondering if the GTX 1070 Ti is suitable for my needs. I found it on Facebook Marketplace for 165 dollars. However, I'm unsure if it will work well for streaming Valorant at 1080p 60fps, especially with a 144hz monitor. Would you think it's a good choice?
I was thinking of pairing it with a Ryzen 5 3600, a 550w power supply, 32gb RAM, and a B550 motherboard.
I really value your advice since I'm not sure what to do. Thanks!
I don’t have any problem with you opting for a GTX 1070ti, but you might find it more affordable on eBay for $150. A Titan X Pascal 12 GB GPU is available for $150 as well, just like the GTX 1080ti. I’m aware there’s a significant price increase for used GPUs because of recent global events, so if you’re in an area with lower prices, there may not be cheaper 1070ti options. Alternatively, you could look for a GTX 1080ti with 11 GB or a Titan 12 GB model. All these alternatives are within the same price range, making them a good choice for value.
i wouldn't choose a card with 6gb of VRAM.
opt for the rtx 3060 12gb instead.
it shouldn't be significantly more expensive on a used market than the older 2060.
for 10xx cards, developer driver support will disappear in the future.
in my country, I can find 12gb rtx 3060 models for 220-230 euros.
the 3060 has sufficient VRAM and matches the performance of the rtx 2070.
its raw rasterization performance is almost comparable to the 1080ti.
Hi! Thanks for your message. In my country eBay isn't the best choice, the shipping costs are much higher than the price of the GPU. However, I found three options on the marketplace:
1. 1070 at 57 dollars
2. 1070ti at 165 dollars
3. 1080 at 165 dollars
I also saw the 2060 and 2060 super, both priced around 250 or 220 dollars. I can't afford that much.
I haven't used a gaming PC before, so I'm not very demanding for AAA games or anything like that. My budget is up to 400 or 450 dollars.
Which of these GPUs would you recommend for my needs? I was thinking the 1080, but I'm not sure if it's that much better.
Thanks for your help, have a great day!
Observe the card's performance prior to swapping money. 1070 remains available for driver updates, but that cost is appealing.
the $57 price for gtx 1070 seems odd,
not even the gtx 1060 is typically trading at this low.
i’d be very careful about this offer (it feels too good to be true)
