Is my recently constructed project going to work well together effectively?
Greetings! I’m hoping to maximize the performance of my recently acquired RTX 2060 Super, which is currently limited by my Intel Core i5 processor as indicated by monitoring with MSI Afterburner. My existing system’s components are:
Intel Core i5-7600K
RTX 2060 Super (MSI Armor OC)
Gigabyte GA-H110-A Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance LPX 2 x 8GB DDR4-2133 Memory
Kingston SSDNow UV400 240 GB (x2)
PowerSpec 550W
Windows 10 Pro
Here’s my planned upgrade:
Ryzen 7 3700X
ROG Strix X470-F Gaming Motherboard
I anticipate this configuration will allow me to perform well in upcoming games. My primary inquiry is:
Is the proposed motherboard suitable for long-term use, or would switching to an X570 chipset or another board be beneficial?
Will my existing 2133MHz RAM remain a suitable match with these new components? If not, what alternatives would you suggest?
I anticipate your feedback and appreciate any advice offered!
I game at a 1920x1080 resolution on a 144Hz monitor and utilize an aftermarket air cooler.
To achieve optimal performance, you’ll need to adjust the display settings on your 3700x system and ensure the infinity fabric clock is bumped up. This will unlock speeds comparable to those experienced with faster RAM, and it will function effectively even without the upgrade.
To fully realize the potential of your 3700x, you’ll need to adjust the infinity fabric clock – a slight bump will unlock enhanced performance that many users experience with quicker RAM. While it may not be strictly essential, it will function effectively.
