Is my monitor suddenly going dark when I use a brand new graphics card (9070 XT) and processor (9800X3D)?
Hi everyone, I just swapped out most of my PC from an Intel i7-8700k and a 3070 to a Ryzen 9800X3D and a 9070 XT. Recently, I noticed that sometimes my monitor goes off for a few seconds before coming back on. I have a Corsair 750-watt power supply unit and I only turned up the power limit, not overclocking anything.
Welcome to the forums, new guy! When starting a troubleshooting thread, it helps if you list your whole system's details. Please write them like this: CPU: Cooler: Motherboard: RAM: SSD/HDD: GPU: PSU: Chassis: OS: Monitor: add how old the power supply is (make and model only) plus your current BIOS version on that motherboard. Since you're upgrading something, tell us what parts you swapped in and what you took out from before. You just bumped up the power limit but didn't go for overclocking? What was going wrong with the GPU when it came out of the box? I moved this thread from the Displays section to the Systems section because of that.
Hey thanks! CPU: 9800X3D Cooler: Corsair H150i Motherboard: MAG X670E RAM: Corsair Vengeance 6000MHz DDR5 SSD/HDD: Toshiba HDWD/Samsung 840 EVO/Samsung 970 M.2 GPU: 9070xt Sapphire Pulse PSU: Corsair 750i, about 5 years old I think Chassis: Lian Li, sadly don't remember make OS: Windows 11 Monitor: MSI G27CQ4 I upgraded GPU, CPU, Motherboard, and Ram, everything else was recycled. I increased power limit as it's just something I've done with all my previous GPUs to give them extra headroom that's all, no instability issues out of the box as far as I'm aware Edit Also, I have two monitors plugged into my GPU, it's just my main monitor that shuts off, not the secondary one.
Did you have a 3070 back when? Did you use DDU to totally wipe out the Nvidia driver before putting in the new Radeon software?
