As discussed earlier, the concern appears to be PCIe 4.0, though I will address it regardless.
I’m operating with a genuine kit (identical package and part numbers), specifically the G.Skill Trident Z RGB F4-3600C16D-16GTZR (CL16-16-16-36). These are premium modules featuring memory Chiplets from Samsung, which were quite costly at the time. I’m using the DOCP profile.
I’ve previously checked these modules separately in various slots and found no impact, so I’m fairly sure it’s not the RAM causing the problem—especially since both memory units failed around the same time.
Could this still be a good investment or could RAM be contributing to the PCIe issue?
Also, the BIOS update from late October (early April release) seems to focus on a recent security fix; I might need to apply it regardless.
I’m using Armoury Crate (a problematic driver manager) which keeps my drivers current and functions properly.
I’m not relying on any ASUS tweak tools except AMD Adrenaline, but the issues continued even after a clean installation.
Thank you for your help.

It could be a GPU, motherboard, or CPU in this setup. Any of these options or all of them might work here. You're not losing much with the forced PCIE 3.0 mode. Performance might drop by about 2% to 3%, which is likely. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/nvidi...ng/28.html

So I was a bit thrilled at first. But now I'm worried it crashed when using furmark and Cinebench (which usually worked in 4.0 mode) with the PCIe slot set to 3.0. It just stopped working during my LoL session.

It's really annoying when fixes seem to help just one day before they fail again. This happened after switching the CPU, replacing the SSD, clearing its contents, and then forcing PCIe 3.0.

I would recommend replacing a different GPU into your setup and/or transferring your existing GPU to another system to observe the outcome. Does it match your current GPU? Does it function properly in another environment? Or does the issue completely resolve? Keep in mind that for accurate testing, the GPUs and other components should be as similar as possible.

I am extremely upset. It functioned perfectly for days in the lower PCIe slot, but now it suddenly stopped working and crashes almost every few minutes.
I haven’t managed to install another system or GPU to diagnose the issue, so I’ll run a Memtest, as that’s my only choice at the moment.
I’ll also attempt to disconnect my HDD and possibly reset my old SSD to see if it helps, even though the likelihood is very low.
