I'm having trouble getting my internet to work right at home. My phone gets super fast on the wifi, but when I plug in an ethernet cable to my PC, it only moves up to 10mbps instead of what's shown as the limit. Someone came over from my ISP to try to fix this thing, and they showed me their laptop with the same cable and got full speed there. But on my PC? It's still stuck at just 10mbps. I've already tried updating the ethernet drivers for my Z590 motherboard and I'm confused because nothing seems to be working. What could possibly be going wrong here?

Open the Computer window, go to Devices and Printers, click on the Network item, then right-click your network adapter. Click "Properties," select "Advanced" at the top of the window, find the "Speed & Duplex" tab, and check the boxes that show how fast you can connect or if it works in two directions at once.

If you turn Auto Negotiation off for Speed & Duplex, go ahead and pick 100 mbps Full Duplex. Turn things back on, then run another speed test to see what happens.
