I believe it’s useful to know if you used MBR or GPT format. New Windows versions such as 8 support GPT formatted drives, enabling up to 128 partitions. This also means larger than 2TB devices can work, which is important given storage needs for games. Four partitions are a limit, offering more partitioning options and multi-boot possibilities beyond just Windows and Linux. Using EFI space would require one of the four standard slots. If you switch to Windows, you may need to reinstall it to accommodate this format, though it might not be necessary. Your current setup uses MBR for Windows and some game storage, which is fine. If you install Linux, you can reformat there for more than four partitions, but four usually suffices. I recommend converting it if you want greater flexibility later without losing data.
