Is my hdd bottlenecking my pc
When playing games such as Fortnite, I experience over 160 frames per second but drop to around 30 for a few seconds. The system specs are: CPU Ryzen 5 2400g, GPU Amd rx 480 8gb, motherboard Asus Prime A320M-K, RAM hyperX 2x4gb 2666mhz, HDD Toshiba DT01ACA100 1TB (four years old), and operating system Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.
I have sufficient room, but I believe my HDD is outdated and requires a replacement.
Install MSI Afterburner and turn on the OnScreenDisplay feature. In the settings, enable it to display FPS, CPU, GPU, VRAM/Ram temperatures, clock speeds, and usage. Then return to the game and keep track of those metrics continuously. When your FPS starts dropping again, examine which values changed noticeably.
