Is my Gigabyte G5 KF getting too hot?
I recently bought my first gaming laptop, which is a Gigabyte G5 KF, and it gets really hot. Here are some steps I took to help: I moved the laptop around, turned off the CPU boost clock, set the processor state down to 70%, used maximum fan speed, updated the BIOS, and limited game FPS to 60. But the CPU is still getting between 96 and 100 degrees Celsius while playing any heavy game. Things I can't do: - use a cooling pad - undervolt the CPU - change thermal paste or pad (without breaking the warranty). Is there anything else I should try? Could it be that my CPU is actually broken?
Welcome to the forum, new friend! You can try using ThrottleStop to lower the voltage on your CPU, the graphics chip inside the PC, and any separate graphics card in there. Also, maybe say what kind of angle or position you took when lifting this laptop up.
