Is my game running slow on a powerful computer?
So pretty much every game that i play gets laggy and shaky. I recently swapped my GPU and power supply because I was sure the GPU was broken. Before, things were bad. Blue screens appeared, screens flickered or went blank, and my computer froze so hard i had to restart it with just the power button. Usually, strange pixels would show up on the screen (like space invaders). This only happened when i played games (usually after 5-10 minutes of playing). It would last for a few days then go back to normal, but it kept happening over and over. It looked like things were getting worse every time so recently i decided to swap my GPU to see if that fixed the problem. So far i have not had any crashes, but my frame rates dropped way too much instead. I'm playing games like V Rising on 40-50 frames per second with stutters. I also ran tests on other games and got similar results. I checked temperatures and everything seemed normal: CPU hit around 60-70% max while GPU stayed at 50-55%. Sometimes the CPU jumped to 100% usage right when it stuttered. If you have any ideas on what i could try, i would appreciate your feedback. Old GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 ROG Strix Gaming. Welcome to the forums! Did you run DDU to get rid of old driver stuff, turn it off, and put in a new RTX 3060Ti? Then did you install the latest drivers manually, like right-clicking the installer and hitting Run as Administrator? Also, what is your motherboard BIOS version?
Screen tearing often happens because of a bad monitor or the wrong type of connection. Have you tried changing your monitor settings to something else, like Hsync? And what cable do you have plugged in?
