I own a Dell 5175 with model m5-6y57, and it gets too hot. My temperature when it sits still is 68 degrees Celsius, but while I am putting Windows updates on it, the heat goes up to 85 degrees. Does this laptop have a removable heatsink? Can I put new thermal paste back on it? Are there other ways to fix this problem?

Those temps are fine for that Intel chip since it only needs air cooling. Check out this official manual from Dell Germany for more details on your specific model.

The manual doesn't say what to do with the heat sink, so is it glued or screwed onto the chip? If that's true, I probably don't have to put new thermal grease back on. So basically you are telling me not to mess with it right? Is this actually normal behavior?

Hi , this is the motherboard for your model https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003375725227.html , you can see the processor and also the cooling of the sistem , you cannot change much , is no fan , in this case you can try update bios and also all drivers and verify after and see if is a difference.

Yeah, all my drivers and updates are current. Is it okay if my computers get hot?
