Is my computer using too little power? Are my picture quality and game speed changing all over the place?
I have an HP Pavilion ec0066ax laptop and here are my specs: I keep getting slow, stuttering, and low CPU or GPU usage. The only way to fix it is to reset the PC. Everything works fine after a reset but then starts lagging again in a week or two. I tried to reinstall drivers with DDU, but the performance didn't change much because the stutters are still there (especially when things load heavily). Can I get some help?
I don't think there is a quick fix I can give here, but we can try this together. Right away I want to warn you: don't expect instant fixes or magical miracles. They rarely happen no matter how good you are at using things. Sometimes it actually takes patience and some hard work. Sure, sometimes you get lucky and things work fast, but that is not the normal rule. That being said, have you checked if there is a BIOS update available for your exact laptop model? Also we need to know the full model number of your laptop, which might include a small sub-model or even a special code tag that gives us precise info about this unit (You will probably need this to do an accurate BIOS update). And yes, you should think about doing a clean install of Windows. Often on laptops especially, the first setup is full of extra junk programs and other stuff when it arrives, and that true for most pre-built desktops too. And even if everything works fine sometimes Windows just decides it won't cooperate because of conflicting settings or other problems. In those cases you have to clean install no matter what, just so you start with a fresh slate and can remove the operating system from your list of worries.
