Is my computer freezing when I set the CPU speed to 100%?
Hi everyone! My PC acts up and gets stuck randomly when my CPU hits its highest speed limit (100%). Right now, I have set the power plan to keep it at 99% max and min so I don't get these freezes. Even with that setting, my clock usually sits around 2.81 GHz while gaming or working hard. But sometimes when I play games, it jumps up to 3.8 GHz even though the settings are locked at 99%, and then drops back down to 2.81 GHz if I close the game. That's what I've looked into so far. I checked my CPU with Intel's diagnostic tool and it never froze during testing. I also ran a stress test using CPU-Z, and that one never froze either. When checking temperatures with Core Temp, I usually see 50C when it's quiet and 75C when it's really hot. I tested my RAMs with MemTest64 and they all showed up over 100% as well. Before the PC started freezing, I tried saving my performance logs, and here are those files below: Log Files (as of May 06, 2025) Log Files: HWiNFO64 Log Files (Google Drive Folder)
You are asking about a Gigabyte H310M H 2.0 motherboard BIOS version and Thermaltake TR2 S 600W power supply unit? Is your power supply old? In our fourth post thread at https://forums. you said you did a clean install, out of curiosity, do you use Windows 10 in offline mode + install all the needed drivers with an elevated command like Right click installer>Run as Administrator while offline? Also side note, where did you get the OS installer from?
