Is low frame rate a problem with my Alienware M18R1?
Hey guys, recently I got an Alienware M18R1 laptop with these specs. When I play Warzone, the FPS drops way too low for me, usually around 60-70 frames per second. I think the problem is my CPU but I don't even know what to do about it. After running UserBenchmarks and getting these results here, anyone could tell me how to fix this issue?
Hey there, UBM is showing you that your disk isn't being read correctly. That's why this test results as a fail. Which power plan are you running? Try High and see if it changes anything. Use run Crystal Disk Mark and run the simple read/write tests. Do they hit the rated speed then? UBM is just about usable as a tool, but it's not considered a way to measure PC performance in real life. It could be your CPU is throttling, which happens often for strong gaming laptops. The cooling systems leave too much room for improvement. What temps are the CPU and GPU getting during gaming?
I'm already using the high performance power plan in my BIOS. I turned on CPU overclocking, but the temperatures are around 90C while the utilization stays below 50%. It doesn't matter much to me, though I only have issues with Warzone FPS. I played Battlefield 1 (which is a bit old) and Hogwarts Legacy at ultra settings, getting over 200 FPS on those games.
