FC5 is available now, though at a fairly steep price. With the recent Ubisoft releases, especially the hit/miss titles, it's worth checking out. I enjoyed FC1, had some good time with FC2, and really liked FC3. FC4 felt a bit repetitive and less impactful compared to those games. It's unclear if it matches up enough to FC3 for enjoyment. The story isn't my main concern.

The gameplay in Far Cry 5 mirrors Far Cry 4 closely, with a similar storyline and predictable endings.

No, 5 is a completely different experience. FC3 and 4 felt almost identical in mechanics and progression. The main change comes with 5. While I think it’s worth the effort, it’s not. It’s fundamentally different. For instance, hunting becomes necessary for upgrades like the AMmo Pouch and Med Kit holder, among other features. In 5, hunting is only justified by the cost. Otherwise, it feels unnecessary. Upgrades are obtained through special points, and leveling itself has changed entirely.

Can't access eBay; it's available on Steam, but I doubt I'll be buying again anytime soon.

The experience changes completely since hunting isn't required. Smart move. The core elements remain the same—stealth, vehicles, weapon handling—but it still feels quite alike to other titles.

I really enjoyed the vibe of FC3, and the camps looked much improved. Taking over camps was basically what I did in the game. Playing FC4 on PS3 might have contributed too. The potato visuals and FPS mechanics with odd controls could have shifted my perspective.

Sure, the PS3 graphics could be the issue. You might want to try the PC or PS4 versions of FC4 again. Personally, it seemed a bit smoother in 4—especially when you unlocked camps and the enemy disappeared. In 5, that didn’t work as well unless you earned those points first.
