I'm considering my friend's setup and thinking about whether upgrading or swapping would make more sense. He has an i7 9700k and Z390, currently running a Ryzen 3 1200 and A320M Pro VH. It looks like a solid combo, but we should weigh the pros and cons of adding a new mobile processor versus keeping his existing gear.

It relies heavily on the specific price since Intel remains the sole available option at the moment, making the choices quite limited.

The difference between 9700K and R3 1200 is quite noticeable—nighttime feels vastly different from daytime.

You're weighing whether to take the full bundle or opt for an AMD alternative that matches the performance of the i7 9700K. It's a tough decision depending on your needs and budget.

My previous comment was about the bundle being for the 9700K. The only AMD CPU with better performance than a 9700K for gaming is a 5600X or higher. The $388 bundle seems reasonable for a new purchase. Is it new?

Absolutely, it would be completely fresh.

I’d pick 9700K instead of the AMD 3600X/3700X since it offers better performance for most games. No hardware acceleration, but it handles more than eight cores without issues.
