Absolutely, additional power is beneficial.
That voltage of 1.4V seems suitable for the first generation unit.

I don't think reaching 1.35v for 3.8 is necessary, perhaps aiming for 4.0 would be better. However, I'm not focusing on that target. EDIT: If achieving a lower V still keeps things stable, that would be ideal!

Varies by chip; Max safe voltage is discussed. Estimates range from 1.45v for the first generation to 1.4v and 1.35v for later models. No assurances about lifespan.

Not exactly, even though you aim for higher frequencies. You might achieve around 4GHz at 1.35 GHz.

It's about how comfortable I feel with the situation. Personally, I don't mind if it wears out quickly because it gives me a reason to replace it. It's been over a year at that stage without any problems, except for RAM issues.
