You're considering switching from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. It's been a year since you upgraded to 10, but you're still experiencing some issues because of bugs and performance problems. Right now, it's been a couple of months, so you're weighing whether the improvements are worth it. It seems smoother and more stable compared to the older version.

I'm holding out for a while, or at least until dx12 games are released that I care about, most of the bugs seem to be fixed though. I'm windows 7 though

Not just because graphics drivers didn't function, also consider this unless it offers a feature you're interested in.

It's better than 8.1 and if you don't have any software that only runs on Win 7 there's no reason not to upgrade. Well unless you think Microsoft is watching you.

the only problem i encountered after installing it was when i hovered over icons on the taskbar a couple of times, the thumbnail picture didn’t appear. everything else seemed normal.

I've been using it since the initial beta in November 2014 and experienced no significant issues.
