My spec details are as follows: CPU r5 3600, GPU rx 6700 x12gb, motherboard ASUS ROG Strix B550 A gaming, power supply pb 650w gigabyte, stock cooler, M.2 1tb, SSD 250gb, Hdd 2tb, 9 RGB fans.
After two years of use, I’ve noticed issues where the system restarts unexpectedly during gameplay, especially when entering the UI. After checking, it seems a failing PSU might be the cause. Since I have a spare PSU from Corsair CX550w, I tested it and the problem resolved. Now I’m wondering if it’s safe to continue using it or if upgrading to a 650w PSU is necessary.

The minimums recommended by manufacturers usually provide extra protection for both hardware and the budget PSUs people often buy. I’m sharing this advice because it aligns with my thoughts on budget power supplies. Choosing a lower-rated PSU can cause problems and lead to system failures, potentially harming your current setup. You need to weigh whether investing in a higher-quality PSU is worth the risk of damaging parts of your build during an unexpected failure.
