hi, i overclocked the xeon x5670 up to 3.9ghz using automatic voltage settings between 1.264 and 1.272 volts. is this safe? will it break my motherboard? I also ran a temp test while letting the cpu burn for less than 75 degrees (around 70-75).

The voltage you're showing looks okay... Anything under 1.35v is usually fine, though Intel's max safe setting for your CPU is 1.35v but you can push it all the way to 1.4v which I'd never do. Auto tends to feed a little more vcore than needed, but since you're already well within specs and temps look good, nothing else to fix. If you want, try lowering the vcore and see if you stay stable... Bottom line, you are good to go as is.
