Is it possible to utilize various RAM capacities on the TUF A15?
The RAM included with the TUF A15 is 16GB at 3200MHz. I'm thinking about purchasing an 8GB version at the same speed. However, I'm uncertain whether this change might lead to issues later on. Should I proceed?
Technically it will function properly, although occasionally it might lead to unexpected issues. Ensure the CAS Latency timings remain consistent (such as 16-18-18-32), as alignment between timing and memory clock speeds enhances stability. If gaming is also a goal, expect possible FPS reductions due to dual channel limitations. Your board may adjust larger RAM sizes into separate channels to balance performance, which could slightly slow down RAM-heavy tasks. This effect will be minor but noticeable in some cases.
Search online for the model RAM and it should display it in the tech specs section. You'll typically find it listed under CAS latency, CL, or timings. It often appears as four digits separated by dashes, such as 16-18-18-32, or sometimes just a single number like 16, with the most significant digit emphasized.
