Is it necessary to watch video games from the 2000s?
I was curious about which games from the 2000s are regarded as essential or classic titles, especially since I wasn't around to experience them firsthand.
The 2000s were my teenage years.
I liked a few games...
American Conquest
Bioshock
Company of Heroes
Call of Duty Modern Warfare
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
Fallout 3
GTA: San Andreas
GTA: Vice City
Medieval: Total War
Medieval 2: Total War
Rome: Total War
and possibly others.
When checking out the next sale, try the valve complete pack—it often drops significantly and includes a variety of top games that work well on a potato. All these titles still support multiplayer servers. Valve Complete Pack is available on Steam. Many people were also hooked on DIABLO 2 and/or Heroes of Might and Magic 3.
You don't need to download everything at once; each game is unique, so you can save only the ones you wish to play.
I understand, but it would be more practical to download everything at once because my internet connection is limited, and I prefer to do it when I can access the web. I'm particularly looking forward to playing Half-Life 2 in 1440p resolution. Does the game offer HDR support?
You should also check if there are standards for Half Life 2 on the RX 6800. There are discussions about Half life 2 benchmarks, though they may be outdated.
Almost an excessive number of titles to mention. I’ll share just a few I played during the early to mid-2000s. The late 2000s saw the rise of MMOs with wide appeal.
Unreal Tournament 99 and Unreal 2K3 and 2K4, Unreal Tournament III didn’t really gain much traction. (Servers tend to be limited, but there’s a free Unreal Tournament you can explore at Epic)
Quake III Team Arena was Quake’s response to Unreal Tournament (I think there are browser versions of Quake II and III available online)
Call of Duty 2, Modern Warfare
Battlefield 1942 (still free to play, though anti-cheat is no longer enforced), Battlefield 2 and 3.
Half Life 2 / Red Faction 2

Baldur's Gate II (the new version just released)

There were many console game series I never played.
You won't face any issues. It should work with today's basic integrated graphics, and even the simplest dual-core processors can handle it, just a bit.
I understand, but I was curious about the possible FPS range. I'm sure even a 1650 can handle the game well in 4K resolution.
