Is it good to try XMP and AI overkill on a laptop?
I just bought a new PC today that has an i9 9900k processor and an asus prime z390 motherboard. All my BIOS settings are set to default right now, and everything looks fine. I did notice there is a feature called "AI Optimized Overclocking" and profiles labeled XMP that I can use. Since I'm not super knowledgeable about these things, I need some help understanding how they work. Should it be safe for my parts over time? Will turning them on hurt anything if I go wrong? Are there any other steps I should take before trying it out?
One person should get a higher frequency, or more precise timing.
XMP is okay. An AI OC idea is not something I'm asking for right now.
I have two special settings called XMP and XMP II, but I don't know exactly how they work or why anyone would turn them on. If I decide to use these, what else do I need to adjust so everything works smoothly?
